You didn’t take Tinder seriously. Either way, it started as a joke. A game. Something to kill time while waiting for your coffee to cool or your brain to shut off. You swiped like it meant nothing—left, left, left again. Profiles blurred into each other. Shirtless mirror pics, bios that tried too hard, blurry group shots where you had to guess who you were matching with. It felt more like skipping ads than meeting people. Then you forgot about it. Just closed the app and moved on. The next night, there’s a push notification waiting: “You have 8 new matches.” You open it without thinking. Most of them are exactly what you expect—gym selfies, sunglasses indoors, one guy holding a fish. And then you see him.
